boston knit-out and crochet too 2006

what a day
more sun than we expected
and far fewer knitters
a wonderful knitting
time for all of us
lily and grace
loved seeing all the spinners
and yarn--like that is new to them--
but to see so many others basking in the
love of yarn-quite exciting

lily learned the art of 'casting on' without help
it suddenly seemed like magic
to her-cheers to lily

we saw a few men knitting

-had hoped to see more-
todd is such a speedy knitter
i thought he could exchange speed info
and set up a race/duel at a later date

in reality just thrilled to see todd's beautiful black wool slipover/vest/
thingy

julie was working on another artistic scarf of many yarns
we call them art opening scarves
a true labour of love-
as she has to knit in the spare seconds that lily and grace
allow her

it was a lovely day
i adore knitting
in the park-
actually knitting everywhere-
i was knitting in the post office and the bakery friday- love busy needles

i have been thinking of this
sweater since last may
and it is exceeding my high
expectations

socks continue to
garner most of the
knitting attention

and books gently
request a bit of time

stocking stitch
does encourage
reading if only
there were more hours
and more days off!!
